💧Filtration Efficiency

SimPure Y7 countertop reverse osmosis water filter dispenser utilizes 3-stage filtration technology and a UV sterilization stage to provide safe and clean drinking water. It has two filter cartridges: CF (Composite Filter) and RO (Reverse Osmosis Membrane).
🧫Contaminant Removal
The CF filter houses two stages:
- Stage 1 is Sediment PP Membrane (Polypropylene layer). It helps remove large impurities such as sediments, dirt, sand, rust, etc.
- Stage 2 is the Activated Carbon Block. It helps remove chlorine, harmful chemicals, VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds), and bad taste and odor.
The RO filter houses the last filtration stage:
- Stage 3 contains a 0.0001-micron reverse osmosis membrane. It helps remove 99.99% of contaminants, including heavy metals (like lead and arsenic), aqueous salts, PFOS, and some microorganisms such as bacteria, protozoa, fungi, and viruses.
The filtered water is then temporarily stored in the internal pure-water reservoir and scanned by UV light to kill remaining germs and bacteria.
They only work well for pre-treated water from the municipality or private wells. It is because dirty water with more than 500 ppm of total dissolved solids (TDS) blocks the SimPure filters, which can no longer purify water effectively.
😋Water Taste and Remineralization

Using the Simpure Y7 countertop filtration system, we found the water tasted refreshing, like bottled water with no aftertaste.
However, no remineralization occurs in the SimPure Y7 purification system. Also, you can not attach an add-on remineralization filter to the system.
🫗Flow Rate
It offers a faster dispense flow rate of 418 GPD (Gallons Per Day). It takes 15 seconds to fill a cup of purified water with this model.
⚖️Pure to-Wastewater Ratio
SimPure Y7 countertop RO water dispenser is excellent for saving water, as its pure-to-drain ratio is 4:1.
For every 4 gallons of purified water produced, it only wastes 1 gallon of water, which is more eco-friendly. Hence, its recycling multi-filtration technology helps save water by 1500% more than other filters.
⚙️Ease of Use and Maintenance

Being a compact, portable, and easy-to-use water dispensing filter, SimPure Y7 is easy to use and maintain. It requires no complicated installation; you just have to plug in the wire to start the unit.
It has a 1.3 Gallon (5 liters) feed water tank capacity at the back, which must regularly be filled with tap water. On filtration, it fills up the 0.45 Gallon (1.8 liters) internal pure water tank ready to dispense.
As for maintenance, it has two filter cartridges that must be replaced timely. The smart display on the dispenser will notify you of the filter life so you can purchase the replacement filters beforehand. The Y7 CF filter must be replaced every 3-6 months, while the RO filter can last for 6-12 months.
The only tricky part of its usage is the flushing system. You have to run 3-5 flushing cycles when you run the unit for the first time to remove any internal dirt.
Then, you must again run a few flushing cycles every time you change the filters. This cleaning is essential to ensure clean water quality later. All the buttons are available on the front smart display with LED indicators.
👨💻Certifications and Customer Service
The SimPure Y7 countertop RO system is independently tested. It has passed SGS tests for GB/T and EPA standards (against NSF/ANSI 58 standards). The test report is available on their website for reference.
The customer service of SimPure is satisfactory. You can contact their support team by phone or email through their website.

10. Finally, push the dispense button to enjoy freshly filtered, clean water.
Can I turn off the UV system in SimPure Y7?
No. You cannot turn off the UV light in the SimPure Y7 system. UV light is installed to sterilize the filtered water stored in the pure water tank and maintain a germ-free environment.
It operates during water purification and stays on for an extra 1 hour after the pure water tank gets full. When the system is turned on, the UV light functions for 3 hours, then shuts down automatically. The UV light operates for 15 minutes every 20 minutes to keep the microbial growth in check.
Can SimPure Y7 be used for well and seawater?
SimPure Y7 RO water filter only works best for water with less than 500 ppm TDS (Total Dissolved Solids). Otherwise, the filter membrane might get blocked and stop filtering.
So, well water meeting government drinking water standards or pre-treatment guidelines can be filtered using SimPure. However, it is not designed to filter seawater, which has exceptionally high TDS and salt levels (~35000 ppm).
What is the minimum water pressure to operate Simpure Y7?
There is no need to worry about tap water pressure while using SimPure Y7. You just have to fill up the feed tank upto to the mark, plug it into the power supply, and the system will do the rest. Its internal pump carries water to different parts during filtration.
Are countertop water filters any good?
Yes. Counter water filtration systems can be as effective as other big filters at removing water impurities. The advanced technology-enabled countertop filters have the same contaminant-reduction rate as whole-house or under-sink filters. They can eliminate harmful chemicals, heavy metals, chlorine, and microbes. So, having a countertop water filter is better than buying plastic bottles of water.
So consider your specific requirement and choose accordingly.
